Self-described as Chanson with lots of words, Michel Sardou comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Lead single “Comme Dhabitude” and “La Generation Loving You” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. While no new Michel Sardou album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1981 tour in Europe. I wish that “Palais des Congres 81″ album was instrumental.
The opening track La Generation Loving You is very much like you would expect from other albums. Si Jetais - A classic Michel Sardou track. The sound of Ils nt Le Petrol Mais Cest Tout is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Michel Sardou. La Maladie Damour is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. In Je Vole the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. I loved Victoria the first time I heard it. I now have Le France as one of my personal favorites. Music and lyrics of Le Mauvais Homme creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Dix Plus Tot still maintains something of a specific flourish. Rien is probably the most interesting track on Palais des Congres 81. La Haine makes a person feel exquisite. Je Nsuis Pas Mort Je Dors is a song to enjoy for years to come. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Je Vais Taimer is one of my favorite songs by Michel Sardou. Les Villes De Solitude (5:43) - awsome. La Pluie De Jules Cesar (3:16) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Un Roi Barbare is a bit of a show-tune. Put Lanatole into car stereo for your highway driving En Chantant is a excellent, simple song by Michel Sardou at the top of his game. Voice and instruments in Etre Une Femme complement each other. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Les lacs du Connemara is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. I hope to keep hearing Michel Sardou works for a long time to come. Michel Sardou allows each song to breathe and flourish. I’ve found myself listening to Le mauvais homme back to back and back many times. Lautre femme has a fun tempo. Preservation is such a exquisite and optimistic song that things can get just better. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Musica catches attention immediately, Michel Sardou offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. El mal de amor (La maladie damour) is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Palais des Congres 81 have ended. Ciudad de soledad (Les villes de solitude) - a classic song. Volver a vivir (Les vieux maris) defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Musically Eza joven feliz (Une fille aux yeux clairs) is superior to other tracks in Palais des Congres 81. Yo te amare (Je vais aimer) is the funkiest number on the album. A mi manera (Comme dhabitude) stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Cantando (En chantant) had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Musica (version single) is exquisite song though, very addictive.
