This -song debut EP shows the promise that Rare Earth has. It has been fifteen years Rare Earth’ last studio CD, “The Very Best of Rare Earth” which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Lead single “Get Ready” and “King Of A Rainy Country” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. The Very Best of Rare Earth is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
King Of A Rainy Country have really caught my ear and imagination. I Just Cried The Sunliners is simply cool. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. So much energy, so exciting a sound.In Bed is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Born To Wander is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. What’d I Say is another favourite of mine. In I Just Want To Celebrate Rare Earth spins a tale you want to hear to the end. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Hey Big Brother marked the continuation of Rare Earth in style evolution. Good Time Sally - A classic Rare Earth track. A fantastic track full of wonder. We’re Gonna Have A Good TIme - This is a very lively song. Nice To Be With You is one of these floating songs. Ma - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Big John Is My Name is just simply stunning. Smiling Faces Sometime hits the heart. Blew our minds when we first heard Hum Along And Dance. Although Chained is very melodic it is far from sad. Fun House - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. B Want R Ya is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. What You Gonna Do If I Give It You is astounding. Rare Earth is hitting on all cylinders in It Makes You Happy. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. I love the melodic melody of Midnight Lady and to this day it makes me feel good. Is Your Teacher Cool to me is the best you can get from Rare Earth. Share My Love (4:35) - awsome. I listened to the opening track Warm Ride and liked it a lot. In You full palet of sound is used by Rare Earth to accentuate the presentation. I Can Feel My Love Risin’ is probably one of Rare Earth’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. You Got My Love is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Stop Her On Sight is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo.
