Jim Jones has compared writing for Winger’s new album to that on ‘Winger’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Winger on ‘Higher & Higher’. This is one of the best Cd’s Winger has dropped to date. Higher & Higher and Headed for a Heartbreak is really good.
Headed for a Heartbreak is one of the coolest songs Winger has ever recorded. Hangin On is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. I have all of Winger’s tracks and Time To Surrender is probably the most his introspective effort. In Poison Angel full palet of sound is used by Winger to accentuate the presentation. Purple Haze - This one is lively and fun. State of Emergency is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Without The Night is the first taste of the new album. Hungry sets the tone for the entire album. Seventeen to me is the best you can get from Winger. Madalaine is outstanding work of Winger.
