On the China charts, superstar Samson’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This album has some very good songs like Slip Away and It Ain’t Fair. This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Samson has. The Masters (CD 2) is not something you should pass up.
It Ain’t Fair is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after The Masters (CD 2) have ended. Voice and instruments in Bite On The Bullet complement each other. Ino The Valley is beautiful, yet underrated track. I like the idea behind Losing My Grip. I believe Vice Versa is one of the most astounding, heartfelt songs ever written. Love Hungry - Check out that bassline! I can’t stop playing Someone To Turn To. Samson offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on The Masters (CD 2). As always, Samson’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. This is one hell of a track.
