It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Maria Callas energies, virtually a rebirth. Bun B. Hear has compared writing for Maria Callas’s new album to that on ‘Great Moments Of… (Cd 2)’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. There is so much to love about Maria Callas, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Great Classical right here!
Carmen (Bizet) - Lamour Est Un Oiseau Rebelle is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Charming song, great melody. Music of Dinorah (Meyerbeer) - Ombra Leggiera is gentle, never overbearing. Hamlet (Thomas) - A Vos Jeux - Partagez-Vous Mes F - A strong beat. Lakme (Delibes) - Dov’e L’indiana Bruna is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Le Cid (Massenet) - Pleurez, Mes Yeux the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. From the moment you listen to Manon (Massenet) - Je Ne Suis Que Faiblesse - Adie you’re hooked. I find myself hearing bits of Orphee Et Eurydice (Gluck) - Jai Perdu Mon Euridic here and there throughout my waking hours. Samson Et Dalila (Saint-Saens) - Printemps Qui Com actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Maria Callas’s face. Maria Callas must have run out of lyrics on the next track Werther (Massenet) - Werther! Qui M’aurait Dit - D.
