There is no doubt that Doom has talent. Now signed to Doom’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “Fuck Peaceville” leads Doom’s back-to-school campaign. Since completing 1996’s ‘Bastard File in the Urethra…’, Doom fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I wish that “Fuck Peaceville” album was instrumental.
What sets Means to an End apart is Doom’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Black Monday the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Stop Gap System. The song feels complete. Diseased without a doubt is the standout song of Fuck Peaceville. Nazi Die as a highlight of Fuck Peaceville contains a ton of gorgeous melodies. Fear of the Future is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. No Doom song has come close to capturing my attention as Money Drug did. Put Bury the Debt (Not the Dead) into car stereo for your highway driving Scared (2:14) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Natural Abuse hits the heart. Music of Drowning in the Mainstream is gentle, never overbearing. Same Mind has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Although No Religion is very melodic it is far from sad. Life in Freedom, Governed by.. to me is the best you can get from Doom. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Doom has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Song Relief (Part 2) is actually a funny song. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Doom. Phobia for Change is one of these floating songs. Exploitation is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Sick Joke is one of the best records ever. Obscenity (1:21) a good melody. War on Our Doorstep has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Don’t judge Free Yourself on the first listening. Nice and different song. Sold Out gives good insight into the truths. Relief - A catchy, upbeat tune. From the moment you listen to War Crimes you’re hooked. Circles is absolutely incredible. This song stands out greatly from the others. Voice and instruments in After the Bomb complement each other. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Doom. Lifelock - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. The sound in Confusion is really warm and Doom’s signature voice is still very much present.
