‘Best of Blues Brothers’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. There is so much to love about Blues Brothers, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. On Best of Blues Brothers album, Blues Brothers have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Blues Brothers. I like the idea behind ‘B’ Movie Box Car Blues. Blues Brothers Complete (Disc 1) - 13 - I Don’t Know is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Flip Flop & Fly is one of the more up-tempo songs on Best of Blues Brothers. Blues Brothers is one of artists that allow his songs like Rubber Biscuit to stand on their own and be heard. Soul Man stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Everybody Needs Somebody To Love (Jake & Elwood) - To me, this is the best song on the Best of Blues Brothers. Gimme Some Lovin’ (Jake) - For me, this is the best of the album. She Caught The Katy (Jake) is a romantic if not formulaic ditty.
