This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Gilbert O’Sullivan has. While no new Gilbert O’Sullivan album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1997 tour in South America. Jim Jones has compared writing for Gilbert O’Sullivan’s new album to that on ‘Singer Sowing Machine’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This is what good Instrumental should be.
From the moment you listen to In Bed By Ten you’re hooked. Sex Appeal is worth the money. You Better Believe It - I like this one. Please Don’t Let My Weekness S - This one is lively and fun. Voice of Gilbert O’Sullivan in I’ll Be The Lonely One is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Con Lab Lib is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Not So Great Britain (5:16) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Only one song from Singer Sowing Machine named I Don’t Care really got me. I’m About is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Break A Leg - arguably the best track on Singer Sowing Machine album. This track is a great song that still never gets old. An End is a cool sing-along.
