Gilbert O’Sullivan’s debut, ‘Greatest Hits’, does not fit easily into one genre. This album has some very good songs like Nothing Rhymed and Underneath The Blanket Go. ‘Greatest Hits’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Underneath The Blanket Go
All of songs on Greatest Hits and have something to say letting alone Underneath The Blanket Go. We Will is beautiful, yet underrated track. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Greatest Hits. No Matter How I Try one is one of the better boring ones. Alone Again (Naturally) gets you up and jumping. Matrimony catches attention immediately, Some of the arrangements found on Greatest Hits are surprisingly edgy. In Clair you won’t find any flashy solos. Out Of The Question is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I find myself hearing bits of Get Down here and there throughout my waking hours. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. A Friend Of Mine is probably the highlight of the album. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. A great put together song. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Put The Best Fund I Ever Had into car stereo for your highway driving What’s In A Kiss is the album’s biggest hit, I think. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Dear Dream to me is the best you can get from Gilbert O’Sullivan.
