This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Cafe Del Mar has. When you buy a Cafe Del Mar album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Since completing 1997’s ‘Que Bonito (Jose Padila)’, Cafe Del Mar fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Great Ambient right here!
Sunshines Better (Talvin Singh; John Martyn) still maintains something of a specific flourish. Leo Leo (Indo-Aminata) can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Cafe Del Mar is all about. Grillos (Paco Fernandez) good vocals. Return Journey (Voices of Kwahn A.D.) is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Cafe Del Mar has astounded me with this amazing track. Cafe Del Mar emotions are reflected through No Sant (Flytronix Mix; Wasis Diop feat Lena Fiagbe). Out Of Time (Levitation) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. I can’t stop humming along Place De La Concorde (Fila Brazillia). Cafe Del Mar sings Offshore (Ambient Mix; Chicane) in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. This track is full of harmonies and gets Ibiza-Volumen 04 off to a relaxing start. Troubled Girl (Spanish Version; Karen Ramirez) is a bit different from Cafe Del Mar stereotypical stuff. In Lula (Phil Mison) Cafe Del Mar spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Street Tattoo (Stan Getz) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody.
