It’s natural for Cafe Del Mar to take a stab at ‘Talvin Singh - Traveller’ considering her long-professed love for Gustav Holst. This album has some very good songs like Talvin Singh - Traveller and Afterlife - Dub In Ya Min. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Cafe Del Mar. Talvin Singh - Traveller and Afterlife - Dub In Ya Min is really good.
A great put together song. The Messenger (A New Funky Generation) - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Cafe Del Mar. Homebase (dZihan and Kamien) - A catchy, upbeat tune. After you’ve listened to Beautiful (7…), most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Music in 3.2 Bedrock (Ambient Mix; Humate) is marvelous as in all tracks of Ibiza-Volumen 06. Satie 1 (Endorphin) is worth the money. Lyrics of Homelands (Nitin Sawhney) are precise and evocative. Cafe Del Mar is one of artists that allow his songs like A Distant Invitation (Rae and Christian) to stand on their own and be heard. I’ve found myself listening to Existence (Edit; Bugge Wesseltoft) back to back and back many times. I can’t stop playing Oh Home (Paco Fernandez / Levitation feat. Cathy). It took me a little time but I ended up loving Les Kid Nappeurs Main Theme (Marc Collin). After few listenings I started to like Adios Ayer (Jose Padilla) more and more. This song is dynamic and dramatic. I love the melodic melody of The Look Of Love (Dusty Springfield) and to this day it makes me feel good.
