Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Linda Ronstadt on ‘Pilgrimage To Santiago: Txalaparta’. ‘Santiago’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Santiago is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Santiago.
It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Pilgrimage To Santiago: El Besu (The Kiss) is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Voice and instruments in Pilgrimage To Santiago: Nao Vas Ao Mar, Toino (Don’t Go To The Sea, Toino) complement each other. This track is clearly meant to showcase Linda Ronstadt’s vocal abilities. Dueling Chanters is perfect. Galician Overture one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Guadalupe had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Minho Waltz great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Setting Sail/Muineira De Frexido is a strong cut, one of many. Maneo sets the tone for the entire album. Santiago De Cuba is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. I now have Galleguita/Tutankhamen as one of my personal favorites. Tears Of Stone - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Dublin In Vigo - arguably the best track on Santiago album.
