On the Jamaica charts, superstar No Mercy’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Since No Mercy last CD (My Promise) on Columbia Records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. ‘My Promise’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. My Promise is not something you should pass up.
Kiss You All Over gives good insight into the truths. This track is full of harmonies and gets My Promise off to a relaxing start. I came to like When I Die. A great put together song. Bonita rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. My Promise To You as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. D’Yer Mak R make listening to No Mercy like being in some sort of time warp. Missing - This one is lively and fun. This Masquerade has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Musically In And Out is superior to other tracks in My Promise. Who Do You Love - To me, this is the best song on the My Promise. Once you hear That’s How Much I Love You, you will listen to it over and over. No Mercy is one of artists that allow his songs like Part Of Me to stand on their own and be heard. Where Do You Go is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations.
