‘August and Everything After’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lead single “Round Here” and “Omaha” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Counting Crows on ‘Round Here’. This is my first Counting Crows Album and i must say i am blown away.
The sound in Omaha is really warm and Counting Crows’s signature voice is still very much present. Mr. Jones is such a gorgeous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Perfect Blue Buildings (5:01) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Anna Begins had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Time and Time Again is one of the best records ever. Rain King - A catchy, upbeat tune. Sullivan Street is a very catchy tune. Ghost Train one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Listening to Raining In Baltimore you can hear that Counting Crows has still amazing chemistry with band members. A Murder Of One is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track.
