I am not a real Folk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Les annees Barclay - Vol.6 - Le jour le plus long’ really is amazing. Les annees Barclay - Vol.6 - Le jour le plus long isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This disc has all of the essential Dalida classics. I wish that “Les annees Barclay - Vol.6 - Le jour le plus long” album was instrumental.
Toutes Les Nuits (All Through the Nights) - Dalida, Raymond LeFevre, Burt Random is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Mi Cari - Dalida, is the most memorable and cool. Tu Croiras (Stand by Me) - Dalida, Raymond LeFevre - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Dalida sings Partie de Football (Partita Di Palone) in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Cha Cha Cha has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. The sound of Bient is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Such hits like Chez Moi (Down Home) will leave you hooked. Loop de Loop is one of the best records ever. Quand Revient l’Summer Holiday) is worth the money. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Eux still maintains something of a specific flourish. Que la Vie ait Jolie [L’Inconnue de Hong Kong] is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Sois Heureux (Lettera Di un S) to me is the best you can get from Dalida. Once you hear Ah Quelle Merveille (The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm) …, you will listen to it over and over. A great put together song. Lyrics of Et Llle a Dit (La Il a Dit/Loody Lo) are precise and evocative. Ding Ding is one of the best records ever. Still going through Les annees Barclay - Vol.6 - Le jour le plus long and coming to appreciate Papa Achet’ Moi un Mari more and more with every listen. From the moment you listen to Ils Sont Partis [Du Film: Dr Folamour] you’re hooked. If you are a Dalida fan, you will love Tant d’Amour du Printemps. Je Ne Sais Plus (You Don’t Own Me) - another great track from the Les annees Barclay - Vol.6 - Le jour le plus long album. Ne T’En Fais Pas Pour is one of these floating songs. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Les annees Barclay - Vol.6 - Le jour le plus long is Ne Lis Pas Cette Lettre. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Chaque Instant de Chaque Jour (Any Old Time of Day) (2:50) - awsome. Chacun Sa Chance marked the continuation of Dalida in style evolution. Amore Scusami (Amour Excuse-Moi) - Dalida, Raymond LeFevre - This is a very lively song.
