Lead single “Cordobes [Manuel Benitez]” and “Et…Et” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Dalida’s album Les annees Barclay - Vol.8 - Ciao Amore Ciao falls to No. 2 with 126,000, a sales slide of 84%. When you buy a Dalida album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Another great offering from Dalida.
I hope to keep hearing Dalida works for a long time to come. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Je T’Appelle Encore is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. The opening track Baisse un Peu la Radio [Nessuno Mi Puo Giudicare] is very much like you would expect from other albums. Modesty Blaise is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Les annees Barclay - Vol.8 - Ciao Amore Ciao. Parlez-Moi de Lui is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Petit Homme [Little Man] is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Tendre Amour [Warm and Tender Love] - a classic song. Je Prre Naturellement which is my favorite is a truly Dalida sounding song. In Dans Ma Chambre [El Amor de Mi Vida] it becomes nowhere more obvious that Dalida has yet to define own style. Mama (When My Dollies Have Babies) is a bit different from Dalida stereotypical stuff. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Ciao Amore Ciao is one of my favorite songs by Dalida. Mon Coeur Est Fou [Cuore Matto] is the most memorable and gorgeous. After you’ve listened to Grilles de Ma Maison [Green Green Grass of Home], most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Music and lyrics of Gens Sont Fous [People Like You] creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Chanson de Yohann [LA 25EME Heure] one of the best in my collection. Dalida sings Qui [Hurt Me More] in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. I find myself hearing bits of Loin Dans le Temps [Lontano Lontano] here and there throughout my waking hours. Banda - I like this one. Je Reviens Te Chercher has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Dalida’s strong vocals come to the fore. J’Ai Dde Vivre is amazing work of Dalida.
