This is the first studio album from Yoko Kanno since bad diagnosis in 1995. six years ago, Yoko Kanno briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Jade”. While no new Yoko Kanno album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Australia. This album is in perfect progression from Yoko Kanno!
This song stands out greatly from the others. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Nomad Soul. Welcome To Sparefish as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Let’s News, which shows, blatantly, how much Yoko Kanno has evolved as a singer. The song Pulse ending is my favorite… so catchy! 3 cm - I like this one. In Voices (Acoustic Version) full palet of sound is used by Yoko Kanno to accentuate the presentation. I like Pu Qua O because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Sweet Feather - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. A Sai En - My least favorite song on this album. After about the third Bad Dog listen through, I began to believe this song is Yoko Kanno’s essence. This track is full of harmonies and gets Macross Plus II (1994 Japanese Anime Mini-Series) off to a relaxing start. In Coma the music gets its power.
