This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Rod Stewart has. Rod Stewart’s debut, ‘A Spanner In The Works’, does not fit easily into one genre. On A Spanner In The Works album, Rod Stewart have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Blew our minds when we first heard The Downtown Lights. Leave Virginia Alone - This is a very lively song. The first time I listened to Sweetheart Like You I was struck by its excellent sound. This is the most memorable and amazing. Lady Luck is a fine track on any terms. You’re The Star (4:40) - awsome. Muddy, Sam And Otis is outstanding work of Rod Stewart. Hang On St. Christopher is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Delicious (4:44) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. A unique and uplifting song. Purple Heather gives good insight into the truths.
