Rod Stewart was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Rod Stewart and Lead Vocalist together. This disc has all of the essential Rod Stewart classics. This is the first studio album from Rod Stewart since bad diagnosis in 1993. To me Rod Stewart is the best band ever.
Handbags & Gladrags gets you up and jumping. Cindy Incidentally (Faces) is really the reason why I recommend buying Lead Vocalist. Stay With Me (Faces) is the first taste of the new album. True Blue is possibly the best song Rod Stewart has come up. Sweet Lady Mary (Faces) marked the continuation of Rod Stewart in style evolution. Hotlegs is the exquisite blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Stand Back - arguably the best track on Lead Vocalist album. Ruby Tuesday - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. This is one hell of a track. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with First I Look At The Purse. Tom Traubert’s Blues is a great opener for Lead Vocalist.
