It has been two years Rod Stewart’ last studio CD, “Unplugged… and Seated” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. There is so much to love about Rod Stewart, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Rod Stewart energies, virtually a rebirth. Unplugged… and Seated touched my soul like nothing else.
Rod Stewart emotions are reflected through Tonight’s The Night. After few listenings I started to like Handbags and Gladrags more and more. Music of Cut Across Shorty is gentle, never overbearing. Only one song from Unplugged… and Seated named Every Picture Tells A Story really got me. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Reason To Believe is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. People Get Ready the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Have I Told You Lately is gorgeous and different song. Tom Traubert’s Blues had me crying as I was able to relate so well. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is The First Cut Is The Deepest. Mandolin Wind (5:23) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Highgate Shuffle - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Stay With Me is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Having A Party is outstanding work of Rod Stewart.
