Since completing 1990’s ‘Suzanne’, Leonard Cohen fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. There is so much to love about Leonard Cohen, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Leonard Cohen had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album is awesome.
Sisters Of Mercy - This is a very lively song. So Long, Marianne is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Bird On The Wire is a amazing song and it grows on you. Lady Midnight defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. The Partisan is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye good vocals. I like Famous Blue Raincoat because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Still going through The Best Of and coming to appreciate Last Year’s Man more and more with every listen. Chelsea Hotel No. 2 is just simply stunning. It’s such an underrated song. Vocals of Leonard Cohen in Take This Longing really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm.
