Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Ministry Of Sound on ‘Ruffneck (Original Mix)’. There is no doubt that Ministry Of Sound has talent. It has been fourteen years Ministry Of Sound’ last studio CD, “The Ibiza Annual 1998 (Disc 1)” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like The Ibiza Annual 1998 (Disc 1).
I can’t stop humming along Deep Menace (Spank; Joey Negro One Way Mix). Ministry Of Sound must have run out of lyrics on the next track The Freaks Come Out (Sharp Mix). Music of Reach For Me (Dillon + Dickins Back To The Future Mix]…) is gentle, never overbearing. Brazilia (Original Mix) - arguably the best track on The Ibiza Annual 1998 (Disc 1) album. In Spend The Night (Serious Danger Mix) it becomes nowhere more obvious that Ministry Of Sound has yet to define own style. Best song on the album, love it. Discocop (Climax Mix) - another great track from the The Ibiza Annual 1998 (Disc 1) album. Burnin’ (Blockster’s 12” Mix) is probably one of Ministry Of Sound’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Stompin’ System (UK Mix) which is my favorite is a truly Ministry Of Sound sounding song. Kinetic (Slacker’s Psychokinetic Mix) actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Ministry Of Sound’s face. I love the melodic melody of La (Lange Remix) and to this day it makes me feel good. Pump The Boogie (Goodtimes Mix) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Ronaldo’s Revenge (Mas Que Mancada; Club Mix) is probably the highlight of the album. In My Life (Jose’s Vocal Mix) motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. A Day In Copacabana (Original Mix) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Movin’ On (Joey Negro’s City Vocal Mix) - For me, this is the best of the album. Ministry Of Sound offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Cafe Del Mar ‘98 (Original Thr…) - I like this one. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin.
