This disc has all of the essential Ocarina classics. For older fans Amalia will put a massive smile accross your face. On Amalia album, Ocarina have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This album is awesome.
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. King Lover still maintains something of a specific flourish. After you’ve listened to La Criola, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Roses for Jiang Ling is almost impossible to review. Bananas Mambo is a astounding song and it grows on you. Blue are the Dreams had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Strong, powerful vocals of Ocarina in King Lover (Reggae) are very impressive. Ocarina is one of artists that allow his songs like Metisse Reggae to stand on their own and be heard. Simple and heartfelt closing track Admitting closes Amalia on a high note. Amalia (Reggae) gives good insight into the truths. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor.
