It’s natural for Asleep At The Wheel to take a stab at ‘Bob’s Breakdowns’ considering her long-professed love for Armin Van Buuren. Asleep At The Wheel’s debut, ‘Ride With Bob’, does not fit easily into one genre. It has been ten years Asleep At The Wheel’ last studio CD, “Ride With Bob” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. I wish that “Ride With Bob” album was instrumental.
New San Antonio Rose is another favourite of mine. No Asleep At The Wheel song has come close to capturing my attention as I Ain’t Got Nobody did. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. I like the agression and power of Heart To Heart Talk. It’s such an underrated song. I listened to the opening track Maiden’s Prayer and liked it a lot. Within the first few notes of You’re From Texas it’s perfectly clear that Asleep At The Wheel is living this song. Right Or Wrong - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Asleep At The Wheel. St. Louis Blues as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. You have to get essence of the Take Me Back To Tulsa’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Stay All Night as a highlight of Ride With Bob contains a ton of cool melodies. I came to like Bob Wills Is Still The King. Going Away Party is a striking and quite long song.
