Self-described as Country with lots of words, Slim Whitman comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Rose Marie CD 3 carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. It has been fourteen years Slim Whitman’ last studio CD, “Rose Marie CD 3″ which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Overall, I would highly recommend Rose Marie CD 3 CD.
Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again(1956) is my favorite song on Rose Marie CD 3. In That Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine(1956) you won’t find any flashy solos. I find myself hearing bits of A Petal From A Faded Rose(1956) here and there throughout my waking hours. I’ll Never Take You Back Again(1956) is excellent song though, very addictive. Song Of The Wild(1956) is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. I like to sing along with Lord Protect My Darling(1996), though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Cryin’ For The Moon(1956) marked the continuation of Slim Whitman in style evolution. Roll On Silvery Moon(1955) - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Haunted Hungry Heart(1955) is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. I Talk To The Waves(1956) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. At The End Of Nowhere(1956) is one of the coolest songs Slim Whitman has ever recorded. I’ll Never Stop Loving You(1956) is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Song Of The Wild(1956) is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Slim Whitman breathes new life into the music in Tumbling Tumbleweeds(1956). This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. I’ll Take You Home Again, Kathleen(1996) has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Slim Whitman’s strong vocals come to the fore. I have all of Slim Whitman’s tracks and I’m A Fool(1956) is probably the most his introspective effort. Voice and instruments in Serenade(1956) complement each other. From the moment you listen to The First One To Find The Rainbow(1956) you’re hooked. Brahms’ Lullaby(1960) is one of my favorite songs by Slim Whitman. Slim Whitman allows each song to breathe and flourish. Dear Mary(1956) is just simply stunning. I’ll Take You Home Again, Kathleen(1958) can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Slim Whitman is all about. Dear Mary(1996) has a fun tempo. Cryin’ For The Moon(1961) is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Slim Whitman ever produced. The Whiffenpoof Song(1956) is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Rose Marie CD 3. First time I heard Curtain Of Tears(1957) was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.
