This -song debut EP shows the promise that Slim Whitman has. This is one of the best Cd’s Slim Whitman has dropped to date. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Slim Whitman’s album Rose Marie CD 4 falls to No. 2 with 327,000, a sales slide of 90%. Such great and happy songs.
Among My Souvenirs(1959) is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Slim Whitman ever produced. I love the melodic melody of Tree In The Meadow(1996) and to this day it makes me feel good. At The Close Of A Long, Long Day(1962) is one of these floating songs. I Must Have Been Blind(1957) is such a excellent and optimistic song that things can get just better. You’re The Only One(1962) is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Riding The Range For Jesus(1962) - A strong beat. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Within the first few notes of At the End Of Nowhere(1987) it’s perfectly clear that Slim Whitman is living this song. Careless Love(1957) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Hawaiian Cowboy(1960) is the most memorable and cool. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. As always, Slim Whitman’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Since You’ve Gone(1957) is outstanding work of Slim Whitman. It took me a little time but I ended up loving An Amateur In Love(1957). I now have Lovesick Blues(1957) as one of my personal favorites. A unique and uplifting song. Forever(1957) has a fun tempo. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Unchain My Heart(1957) from the beginning to the end. Once In A Lifetime(1961) has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Tormented(1958) is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Candy Kisses(1958) is the more seemingly obscure song on Rose Marie CD 4 that bear up best to repeated listening. Hush-A-Bye(1957) is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Careless Hands(1958) is absolutely incredible. A Very Precious Love(1958) is one of the best records ever. I like the idea behind Put Your Trust In Me(1958). When It’s Springtime In The Rockies(1958) is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. What sets At the End Of Nowhere(1958) apart is Slim Whitman’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Mexicali Rose(1959) is so unique, as each one of the songs is. My Best To You(1959) - another great track from the Rose Marie CD 4 album. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot.
