While no new Slim Whitman album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1996 tour in Europe. This is the first studio album from Slim Whitman since bad diagnosis in 1996. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Slim Whitman’s album Rose Marie CD 6 falls to No. 2 with 868,000, a sales slide of 80%. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Slim Whitman must have run out of lyrics on the next track Roll River Roll(1960). Rose Marie(1960) is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Indian Love Call(1959) very upbeat. Opening track Amateur In Love(1996) shows the best of Slim Whitman. Song Of The Old Water Wheel(Water Effect)(1960) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. All That I’m Asking Is Sympathy(1996) catches attention immediately, How Can I Tell You(1996) (2:38) a good melody. Danny Boy(1962) makes a person feel cool. I like to sing along with Warm, Warm Lips(1987), though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Rose Marie(1987) - A classic Slim Whitman track. Excellent vocals and musical performances. At The Close Of A Long, Long Day(1996) the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Unchain My Heart(1996) is probably the highlight of the album. Tormented(1996) is a good listen every once in a while. Lyrics of Candy Kisses(1996) are precise and evocative. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Rose Marie CD 6 is Hush-A-Bye(1996).
