Since Merle Haggard last CD (Untamed Hawk CD2) on Savoy Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. There is no doubt that Merle Haggard has talent. Now signed to Merle Haggard’s Savoy Records, the title track from second album “Untamed Hawk CD2″ leads Merle Haggard’s back-to-school campaign. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Merle Haggard ever.
Our Hearts Are Holding Hands (& Bonnie Owens) sets the tone for the entire album. Too Used To Being With You (& Bonnie Owens) - A catchy, upbeat tune. That Makes Two Of Us (& Bonnie Owens) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. After few listenings I started to like Swinging Doors (Alt) more and more. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. I Threw Away The Rose is the amazing blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. The Fugitive is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Listening to Loneliness Is Eating Me Alive you can hear that Merle Haggard has still amazing chemistry with band members. Someone Told My Story - To me, this is the best song on the Untamed Hawk CD2. I Threw Away The Rose is probably the most interesting track on Untamed Hawk CD2. Hang Up My Gloves is one of these floating songs. The Longer You Wait (2:22) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Overall a nice softer song. I Can’t Stand Me catches attention immediately, Someone Else You’ve Known I just LOVE this mix! High On A Hilltop is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. I’ll Look Over You is the song that really did it for me. Merle Haggard must have run out of lyrics on the next track No More You And Me. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Mixed Up Mess Of A Heart because the melody in the chorus is so good. I’m A Lonesome Fugitive is outstanding work of Merle Haggard. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. House Of Memories - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. It’s such an underrated song.
