Lead single “Mary Ann Regrets” and “Billy Bayou” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. I am not a real Country music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Nashville Years, Vol. 3′ really is amazing. There were many famous songs of Burl Ives available. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Put The Moon Is High into car stereo for your highway driving Green Turtle is almost impossible to review. Bury The Bottle With Me actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Burl Ives’s face. The Blizzard is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. It Comes And Goes gives good insight into the truths. Some call I’m The Boss from The Nashville Years, Vol. 3 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. The Same Old Hurt (remake 1963) is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Curry Road is one of the best records ever. The Deepening Snow is one of the best records ever. She Didn’t Let The Ink Dry On The Paper (2:27) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. The Late Movie 1963 has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Home, James is a bit of a show-tune. Man About Town has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Burl Ives’s strong vocals come to the fore. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with She Called Me Baby. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Baby Come Home To Me is excellent work of Burl Ives. Some of the arrangements found on The Nashville Years, Vol. 3 are surprisingly edgy. Lynching Party is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. What sets A Hundred Twenty Miles From Nowhere apart is Burl Ives’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Two-car Garage is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. I now have I Found My Best Friend In The Dog Pound as one of my personal favorites. I’ll Hit It With A Stick is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. A great put together song. Once you hear Some Folks, you will listen to it over and over. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. There Goes Another Pal Of Mine is a fine track on any terms. I listened to the opening track This Is Your Day and liked it a lot. I love the melodic melody of This Is All I Ask and to this day it makes me feel good.
