This -song debut EP shows the promise that Hank Snow has. Now signed to Hank Snow’s Savoy Records, the title track from second album “The Essential Hank Snow” leads Hank Snow’s back-to-school campaign. This is the first studio album from Hank Snow since bad diagnosis in 1997. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
The Wishing Well - another great track from the The Essential Hank Snow album. Ninety Miles An Hour is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Let Me Go, Lover - I just love it. I’ve Been Everywhere has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Miller’s Cave has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. In Beggar To A King it becomes nowhere more obvious that Hank Snow has yet to define own style. Lady’s Man have really caught my ear and imagination. Yellow Roses is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Simple and heartfelt closing track Would You Mind closes The Essential Hank Snow on a high note. I Went To Your Wedding (Alternate Take) is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Hank Snow released so far. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Hank Snow is one of artists that allow his songs like (Now And Then, There’s) A Fool Such As I to stand on their own and be heard. This song stands out greatly from the others. I Don’t Hurt Anymore is beautiful, yet underrated track. Music Makin’ Mama From Memphis is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. One listen to the sheer beauty of Unwanted Sign Upon Your Heart was all I needed. The Golden Rocket is a very catchy tune. I’m Movin’ On - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Rhumba Boogie one of the best in my collection.
