When you buy a Dalida album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Volume 10 - L’an 2005 (69-70) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Dalida’s album Volume 10 - L’an 2005 (69-70) falls to No. 2 with 818,000, a sales slide of 85%. This album is in perfect progression from Dalida!
Et Pourtant J’ai Froid is a bit different from Dalida stereotypical stuff. Dalida allows each song to breathe and flourish. Les Anges Noirs (2:55) a good melody. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Deux Colombes is possibly the best song Dalida has come up. Music and lyrics of Les Couleurs De L’amour creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Ballade A Temps Perdu is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Dalida ever produced. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Le Clan Des Siciliens, which shows, blatantly, how much Dalida has evolved as a singer. Concerto Pour Une Voix is a strong cut, one of many. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Lyrics of Hey Love are precise and evocative. Histoire D’aimer is absolutely incredible. Such hits like Le Bonheur Vient De Me Dire Bonjour will leave you hooked. The sound in Sa Grande Passion is really warm and Dalida’s signature voice is still very much present. What sets J’ai Ta Main apart is Dalida’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. In Je Te Perds you won’t find any flashy solos. Va Plus Loin Que Le Temps - To me, this is the best song on the Volume 10 - L’an 2005 (69-70). Best song on the album, love it.
